Resounding Notes of the Season

Commencing on November 13th at 7:30 p.m., the season inaugural recital heralds the unveiling of the Schoenstein & Co. pipe organ in the exquisite ambiance of the St. Callistus Chapel and Crypts. The refurbished 405-pipe instrument, having journeyed from private homes in Southern California and New York back to its Californian roots, promises a soul-stirring performance.

A Symphony of Events

A musical odyssey awaits, with the annual Christmas at the Cathedral concert enchanting listeners on December 13th at 7:30 p.m. Delight in holiday classics and participatory carols, weaving a tapestry of reverence for the tale of Jesus’s birth.

Marvelous Bach Marathon

Prepare for the monumental “Bach-a-Thon!” on March 3rd, a marathon concert commencing at 6 a.m. and culminating at 1 a.m. the next day. Witness a breathtaking rendition of J.S. Bach’s complete organ works on the illustrious Hazel Wright Organ, featuring distinguished concert organists from across Southern California. An eagerly anticipated highlight at 7:30 p.m. will feature the “best of Bach,” an interlude led by David Ball and the Christ Cathedral choirs, with insightful commentary from renowned personalities Michael Barone and Roger Sherman.

Choral Ode to Marian Splendor

On March 25th at 7:30 p.m., immerse yourself in “The Annunciation: A Choral Adoration,” an intimate night of music honoring Marian choral classics. Experience the world premiere of an ethereal hymn arrangement by Benjamin LaPrairie, associate director of music at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, D.C.
